IPL shows green signal to ICL stars

Mumbai: The ICL playes, who have terminated their contracts with the league, are all set to play in the third season of the Indian Premier League (IPL).

The decision on the issue was taken at Indian Premier League's Governing Council which  met at Mumbai. It was also decided that former ICL players would be given anything between Rs 8 to 10 lakhs for their participation in the IPL.

The players, who took advantage of the BCCI's one-time amnesty scheme and severed ties with the rebel league, have already been seen in action in other official domestic cricket after the ban on them was lifted by the Board.

According to sources, foreign players like Shane Bond, Justin Kemp and Inzamam-ul Haq, will be hot property for the IPL franchisees for the next season.

Domestic players like Abhishek Junjunwala, Deep Dasgupta, Rohan Gavaskar, Hemang Badani, Dinesh Mongia and Ambabati Rayadu, all off who have now terminated their contracts with the ICL, can now look forward to bag lucrative IPL contracts.
